Jessica Van de Kemp, OCT (BA, B.Ed, MA) is a Best of the Net nominee and the winner of ATC’s The Erotica Contest. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks Daughters in the Dead Land (Kelsay Books, 2017) and Spirit Light (The Steel Chisel, 2015).
Her poem, “Slant of the Girl,” was shortlisted for the 2015 Montreal International Poetry Prize, judged by Eavan Boland, and appears in the Global Poetry Anthology (Véhicule Press, 2015). Her play, Hatching in a Cage, was a finalist at the inaugural Newmarket National Play Festival.
Three-time winner of The Award for Excellence in Teaching, Jessica teaches academic writing and rhetoric courses at the University of Waterloo, where she is pursuing a PhD in English. Her doctoral research on gender in crime drama TV is funded by the Province of Ontario.
